Surrey Border Film & Video Makers members meeting

Surrey Border Film and Video Makers Press Release April 2008

This is one of a series of reports which appeared regularly in the Farnham Herald. They report the filmmaking activities of camcorder bearing enthusiasts as they meet to see films and hear talks about  film, video and tv film making.

Early in April four carloads of Surrey Border Film & Video Makers set off for Chichester. Although there had been 3 inches of snow that morning, the conditions did not deter any of our intrepid club members. They were heading for a competition hosted by Chichester Film and Video Makers, and were raring to go, as they had made two films specially for the competition. One of these was a comedy, about an absent minded shopper called 'Just one of them thingys' and the other, also a comedy, was called 'On Patrol?', the main character of which was a traffic warden who has a heated altercation with a car owner who was not all she seemed. The competition theme was 'A Senior Moment'.

Club members were well satisfied with being runners up in the competition, given the 14 excellent entries and the very positive comments of the judges. There was also just a hint of relief as this particular competition passes the onus of organising the following year's competition to the winner. Phew, Is that a prize or a penalty!
