Surrey Border Film & Video Makers
Surrey Border Film & Video Makers, a filmmaking video club which meets on the first Friday of the month for one or more films, talks or other events. In addition there are various filmmaking activities, outings and other activities. Individual groups, training and film-making exercises are arranged to suit the individuals and the circumstances. (See 'Help/training'.) Meetings start at 7.45 and end at 10:15 with a refreshment break at around 9:00. It is a good idea for visitors to arrive by 7:30. | 3 September 2010 | Hot off the press - a new film 'Father, Son and Auntie BEEB'. Terry Patrick's account of 70 years of his family's involvement with the BBC. We are fortunate to be given this presentation ahead of its official premiere! |
| 1 October 2010 | Interclub competition. An evening when we entertain four other clubs who bring along their best films in a friendly competition. This is an evening for seeing a high standard or films as well as a social gathering of amateurs keen on filmmaking. Visitors are welcome at all our meetings. |

| 3 December 2010 | Annual members competition. At the November meeting members will have handed in tapes of new films they have made. These will have been judged and the judge will show them and make constructive comments. Prizes will be awarded. Gwen and Alan Whippy have agreed to travel to us to act as judges. |
| 5 December 2011 | Club Christmas lunch. After the very successful lunch last year at the Farnham House Hotel it has been decided to go to that venue again. Please register your menu choice by the November club night. |
| 7 January 2011 | Club AGM plus talk re latest equipment. |
| 4 February 2011 | A viewing of award winning films together with short discussions to see what we can learn for our own film making. Led by Neil Cryer |
| 4 March 2011 | A speaker with great experience and knowledge has been asked. |
| 1 April 2011 | An editing competition challenge to make a film with no clip longer than 5 seconds. This is to emulate many modern tv programs. Note the resultant film should be no more than 3 minutes long. |
| 6 MAY 2011 | Surrey tri-annual film awards ceremony. Come and see the best we have produced over the last 3 years. |
| 3 June 2011 | Wait for the response to an invite. |
| 1 July 2011 | Our annual 'Film in an Evening' competition. The theme this year is 'Mistaken Identity'. Groups gather beforehand to discuss, plan and rehearse for this evening. On the night they have to produce a film in just 2 hours (including shooting and editing) to show to the club at 9.30pm. |
