Christmas lunch 2003

Introduction

For the Christmas lunch, December 2003 the club booked a room at the Alton House Hotel. The atmosphere was convivial and members were in good spirits. The WriteAngle group of the club had decided to ask members if they would mind taking part in a crowd scene for their latest film. Everyone seemed to think this was an amusing idea and rather different from the usual social get together before a meal. The scene was simple, two long lost sweethears were due to meet up. In the crowd they couldn't find each other until the man got up on a chair and called out "Alice". Everyone paused their conversation and looked round to see who was calling out. Alice replied "I'm here" and the rest is history - or at least has been captured for inclusion in the next film. The location for both the filmmaking and the lunch was superb. The discussions after the meal went on well into the afternoon and it was getting dark when the party finally wound up.
